A pre-Bar/Bat Mitzvah Morning for 6th grade
students and their parents
Sunday, March 13, 2005
9:30am until 12:00 pm
At Tarbut V'Torah Upper School Campus (5 Federation
Way in Irvine)

- Meet teen "Mitzvah Makers"
- Create a Community Tzedakah Project
- Share this milestone with our community of 6th
graders' families
- This special program will count toward 6th grade
attendance at religious school.

- Take home helpful handouts, including our "Teens
Take Action" Resource Guide
This event is brought to you by the Bureau of Jewish
Education and partner synagogues at NO CHARGE.

Outline of Activities
1. Welcome Activities 9:30-10:00
- Registration
- "Mitzvot R Us" exhibit: Meet teen
Mitzvah Makers and discover their unique Mitzvah projects.
- Help organize and pack backpack for
disadvantaged students.
- Design and decorate a Passover
greeting card for Jewish soldiers in the US Armed Forces.
II. Greetings and Overview 10:15-10:30
III. Mitzvah Stations 10:45-Noon (Participants will
be divided into 4 groups and will rotate every 20 minutes to each of the 4
stations)
- Linus Project: Participate in our
blanket-decorating project to benefit CHOC patients
- Create-A-Smile: Animal Assisted Therapy
- Think Big: How to plan a big fundraising
event
- Sports & Mitzvah: AYSO program, Little
League Challenger program and more.
The Bureau of Jewish
Education and the following contributing synagogues make this program
possible: University Synagogue, Temple Beth Sholom, Congregation B'nai
Israel, Temple Bat Yahm, Temple Beth David, Congregation Shir Ha Ma'alot,
Temple Beth Tikvah/Adat Ari, Congregation B'nai Tzedek, Temple Beth El, and
Temple Israel--Long Beach.
